Live and Self-Paced Classes

Classes for building supervisory and management skills are grouped into the certificate series listed below. Any of the classes in these certificate programs may also be taken individually without pursuing the certificate.

Supervisory Leadership Principles Certificate

The Supervisory Leadership Principles Certificate is designed for UCLA staff and faculty who are new to supervisory roles or experienced but seeking to refresh or enhance skills, and those who aspire to supervisory positions.

Supervisory HR Principles Certificate

This certificate is designed to equip supervisors with the practical skills and knowledge needed to successfully navigate the more advanced aspects of supervisory leadership related to complex human resources and compliance issues.

Management Development Certificate

The classes in the Management Development Certificate series help management-level employees enhance effectiveness in their current roles and prepare for future leadership opportunities. The individual courses may be taken without pursuing the certificate.

UC People Management Certificate

The self-paced, web-based UC Systemwide People Management Certificate is for all current and aspiring people leaders.

Cohort Programs and Seminars

In-person programs that often last a few weeks and require an application and acceptance to join.

This annual series provides practical tools and strategies to help leaders engage their teams, enhance managerial competencies and expand professional networks.

UC Management Development Program (UCMDP)

This multi-day leadership program advances UC-wide competencies to help managers  engage with their teams to achieve optimal results.

Administrative Management Group (AMG)

The UCLA Administrative Management Group (AMG) is devoted to the professional development of managers on campus, and those who aspire to become managers. Proshare, their signature six-month networking and support program, is available to all UCLA staff.
