Participants should expect to dedicate approximately 10–12 hours per month to PDP activities. To support participant success and maintain the integrity and continuity of the program, the following criteria must be met to earn a Certificate of Completion in the UCLA Learning Management System at the conclusion of the program year.
- Workshops & Homework: Attend all monthly skill-building workshops and major events. Complete career assessments or other assignments on time.
- Coaching: Attend a minimum of 3 individual coaching sessions with the program manager.
- Department Presentation: Deliver a 3-minute presentation about your department. Participants may also volunteer to organize and host a virtual site visit.
- Capstone Project: Complete a department-based project and measure the impact of the project deliverables. Participants will deliver an individual project proposal presentation in November 2026 to gain department approval and support for the project.
- Consultation Teams: Meet monthly with project consultation team once assigned.
- Final Group Presentation: Consultation teams will deliver a final 20-30-minute presentation to all program stakeholders in June 2027. Stakeholders include supervisors, mentors, buddies, and the program manager.

Attendance & Program Requirements Policy
Missing more than one workshop without advance notice, or repeatedly failing to meet program deadlines, may result in discontinuation from the program. We recognize that exceptional circumstances can arise that affect participation. If this occurs, participants should contact the program manager as soon as possible to discuss available accommodations.
Open and timely communication is essential to success in PDP—particularly during challenging periods. The program manager cannot provide support or accommodations without awareness of the situation. The program manager, peers, and consultation team members are here to support, challenge, and encourage you; effective support depends on active engagement and communication.
PDP is an elective developmental program designed to support your growth and well-being. If at any point you find it difficult to balance personal responsibilities, work commitments, and program expectations in a way that affects your mental health, please contact the program manager immediately so appropriate support options can be explored.
