The job description is a powerful management tool to help you recruit, develop, and retain outstanding staff. This course addresses legal considerations and gives hands-on experience in identifying core job functions; describing critical duties and responsibilities; determining skills, knowledge, and abilities needed for success in a position; and developing a meaningful and well-written job description.
Note: This course does not cover job description practices and procedures that are applicable to the Medical Center and the School of Medicine. For additional information relevant to those areas, contact Health System Human Resources at ext. 4-0500.
Staff and faculty supervisors and managers at all levels are eligible to enroll.
This course counts as a required course toward the Supervisory HR Principles Certificate. It may also be taken individually without pursuing the certificate.
