Leading remote and hybrid team members brings unique challenges that require leveraging supervisory skills in new ways. This class is designed to help participants become more effective at supervising remote and hybrid teams by building skills in generating trust, performance management, communication, employee engagement, and other key areas. Completing this self-paced course will help supervisors:

  • Recognize the benefits and challenges of remote/hybrid workers on a team
  • Identify ways leadership skills are applied differently with remote and hybrid workers
  • List potential challenges with supervising a remote and/or hybrid team
  • Describe the importance of, and techniques for, performance management in a remote/hybrid environment
  • Create a plan to foster connection in a virtual environment

Staff and faculty supervisors and managers at all levels are eligible to enroll. All staff and faculty who do not yet supervise others but aspire to supervisory positions are also eligible to enroll.

This course counts as an elective course toward the Supervisory Leadership Principles Certificate. It may also be taken individually without pursuing the certificate.
