For those who understand the concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion — and for those who don’t yet — this course is designed to introduce participants to the concepts in general as well as what they mean in a supervisory role. Special attention is paid to identifying practical ways to live out the concepts in one’s day-to-day supervisory practices.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Identify the benefits of considering EDI principles in the supervision of a team
  • Begin weaving EDI principles into the day-to-day supervision of a team

Staff and faculty supervisors and managers at all levels are eligible to enroll. All staff and faculty who do not yet supervise others but aspire to supervisory positions are also eligible to enroll.

This course counts as a required course toward the Supervisory Leadership Principles Certificate. It may also be taken individually without pursuing the certificate.
