The University will issue a one-time 3% non-base-building, lump-sum payment to eligible biweekly and monthly paid members of the EX bargaining unit as specified in the March 22, 2014, tentative agreement between AFSCME and the University of California. The 3% payment is retirement eligible compensation and will be based on actual earnings for the period between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014. All appropriate taxes and UCRP contributions will be deducted from the lump sum payment. Employees having PAR primary pay cycle “BW” in any pay period ending in March 2014 will receive an additional $10.
Eligibility for the lump-sum payment shall be in accordance with General Provision A, Section 1: to be eligible for the lump-sum ratification bonus, the employee must be on pay status or on approved leave of absence on the date of payment, August 27 or August 29 depending on their pay cycle, and in the EX Bargaining Unit for any part of the period between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014.
Payment will be reflected in the following paychecks:

A separate bulletin will be issued with instructions for processing any manual lump sum payments that may become necessary. For example, when an employee returns to work following a leave of absence that included the one of the pay dates shown above but had eligible EX Unit wages during the period from April 1, 2013, through March 31, 2014.
