To: Administrative Officers, Deans, Department Chairs, Directors, Vice Chancellors and Vice Provosts

Dear Colleagues:

We thank you for your review of the updated UCLA Policy 136: Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, which has been posted online.

The updated campus policy aligns with technical updates to the Presidential Policy on Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (PDF), which were made to comply with AB 1963. This legislation expanded the definition of Mandated Reporters to include adults who supervise minor employees, as well as certain human resources and academic personnel staff or other such location employees who are charged with handling discrimination complaints as defined by CANRA.

If you have questions regarding the policy, please contact Kathleen Shiroma in Campus Human Resources at kshiroma@chr.ucla.edu or Jane Miller in Health Human Resources at janemiller@mednet.ucla.edu.

Sincerely,

Lubbe Levin
Associate Vice Chancellor
