The Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA), which governs collective bargaining of higher education employers in the State of California, requires that the University as the employer provide notice to the public before it begins negotiations with an exclusive representative.
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), will begin meeting and conferring under the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act with the UCLA Skilled Trades Bargaining Unit (K4), which is exclusively represented by Teamsters, Local 2010 (Teamsters). The union is the exclusive representative of the UCLA Skilled Trades employees at the UCLA campus and UCLA Health. The University and Teamsters will begin negotiating over a successor to the current collective bargaining agreement, which will expire on June 30, 2022.
The University will convene an initial public-notice meeting on December 15, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
