Campus Human Resources is pleased to announce and call for applications for the 2022 UCLA Management Enrichment Program (MEP) and UC Management Development Program (UCMDP). These high-profile development opportunities address core management competencies, support evolving organizational demands, and provide participants with a chance to strengthen their professional networks. |
MEP is designed to provide a framework for enhancing decision-making and leadership skills, particularly in critical areas such as strategic planning, financial management, and human resources, along with understanding the context in which decisions are made at UCLA. The program includes interactive sessions with senior managers, facilitated panel discussions, and UCLA-relevant case studies. MEP consists of eight half-day sessions between February and June 2022, with a culminating event at the end of the program. MEP’s target audience is Manager 1 and above in Career Tracks or equivalent MSP classifications. This cohort-based program has no fee for course materials. |
UCMDP, a system-wide training program, was established to enhance and strengthen leadership capabilities and ensure managers have the skills, knowledge, and resources to effectively lead, engage and develop staff. Attendees will participate in work-group discussions relevant to the UC context, including practical application and action planning. The University of California Office of the President (UCOP) commissioned industry leaders to create four full-day modules on people management, employee engagement, exercising influence, and leading change. UCMDP is conducted in March and April, targets Manager 1/Supervisor 2 and above in Career Tracks or equivalent classifications, and costs $600 for course materials. |
Participation for each Zoom-based program will be limited to 25 attendees, expecting that they will attend all sessions. While eligible employees may apply for both programs, they will be selected to participate in only one during the current cycle. Visit the MEP and UCMDP Overview 2022 (DOCX) for additional information regarding the programs. |
Please use the following links to submit an online application for MEP or UCMDP. Applicants will be required to upload a letter of support from their manager at the end of the online application, and supplemental materials will be optional. Interested employees need to complete the application and upload the required materials by Friday, February 4, 2022. |
