The 2023–2024 Management Development Certificate Course Schedule is now available. The certificate program is designed to help management-level employees enhance effectiveness in their current role and prepare for future opportunities. In addition to learning management theory, participants work with peers, team members, their own managers, and other colleagues on the application of new skills to real-world scenarios. Individual courses may be taken without pursuing a certificate.

The Management Development Certificate is earned by successful completion of 10 courses — six required and four electives. Courses may be completed in any order.

The program is intended for employees at the Management & Senior Professional level, including Career Tracks Manager classifications and Professional levels 4–5. For any positions not allocated to Career Tracks, PSS grades 5–7, equivalent IT levels, and academic classifications will be considered, where the position includes broad decision-making authority, supervisory accountability, and/or project-management responsibility.

New this year is the inclusion of self-paced courses in the curriculum. Offering courses that are self-paced will allow more managers to participate in the program, while reducing the overall expense of acquiring a certificate.

Registration for the courses is conducted via the UC Learning Center. Instructor-led workshops will primarily be held online, and early registration is encouraged. More information is available on the Management Development Certificate web page.
