2025 UC Management Development Program

Campus Human Resources is pleased to call for applications to the 2025 UC Management Development Program (UCMDP). This longstanding UCLA program enhances leadership skills that align with systemwide core management competencies and helps participants address evolving organizational needs to support team effectiveness and engagement. UCMDP participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their network in person when they attend the program, which will be conducted at UCLA’s Wilshire Center in Westwood.

Attendees will participate in four full-day modules relevant to the University context, including practical application and action planning. The program content is based on the following studies from industry leaders:

  • March 5: Module 1 – Manager Redefined: Redefine your role as a manager and leader who encourages and guides employees, advances teamwork, inspires trust, and optimizes results. Towers Watson
  • March 19: Module 2 – Employee Engagement: Create a workplace environment that promotes employee engagement and development. Blessing White
  • April 10: Module 3 – Exercising Influence: Improve your collaboration skills to gain commitment and achieve results. Barnes and Conti
  • April 24: Module 4 – Leading Change and Managing Transitions: Develop strategic approaches to making an organizational change. UC Berkeley

Eligible employees include those in positions classified at the Manager 1/Supervisor 2 level and above in Career Tracks or equivalent classifications. Participants will be selected via an application process, and there is an expectation that all four modules will be completed. The program fee is $650, including course materials, a light continental breakfast, and lunch. Visit the UCMDP Overview 2025 site for additional information regarding the program.

Begin the online application for UCMDP; note that a manager’s letter of support is required to complete the process. Applications are due by Friday, February 7, 2025.
