The UC Office of the President has issued the 2022 Emergency Paid Sick Leave Guidance and 2022 Emergency Paid Sick Leave Notice and Request Form for policy-covered and represented staff employees. The University is providing all full-time employees with up to 80 hours of 2022 Emergency Paid Sick Leave (“2022 EPSL”) through September 30, 2022 if they are unable to work or telework for a qualifying reason. This policy is retroactive to January 1, 2022. (Part-time employees are eligible for the prorated equivalent of up to two weeks’ worth of 2022 EPSL).
The 2022 EPSL guidance also includes a revision to the 2021 EPSL guidance: the University will permit 2021-EPSL-eligible employees to use any remaining 2021 EPSL hours during the 2022 EPSL period.
