Benefits Open Enrollment is from Oct. 25, 2018, to Nov. 20, 2018. This is the first UCLA Open Enrollment using the new Employee Self-Service Portal on UCPath. It is important to remember that the Employee Self-Service Portal replaces AYSO for active employees as the electronic tool for making benefits elections. Eligibility for benefits, the timelines for Benefits Open Enrollment, and the required actions on the part of employees have not changed unless specifically noted.
Here are some highlights for 2019 UC Benefits:
| • | Continued low costs — Most faculty and staff will see medical plan premium increases of less than $6 per month. The largest increase is for the UC Care Plan. UC Care is a generous PPO plan that provides members with the ability to select in/out of network providers which drives up cost, especially with out-of-network utilization. UC will continue to adjust premiums by pay level to ensure costs are distributed fairly, and to offer dental and vision plans for you and your family at no cost to faculty and staff. | • | Good news for domestic partners — If you are in a domestic partnership, you may have more options for enrolling your family members in health and welfare coverage next year. |
| • | Changes for HealthNet Blue & Gold – The plan has a new name, UC Blue & Gold HMO. HealthNet will continue to offer medical benefits for Blue & Gold, and will begin providing behavioral health benefits, as well, through Managed Health Network (MHN), a HealthNet company. |
| • | We love our pets! Protect your pets with UC’s new voluntary pet insurance. |
| • | Boost your tax-free savings — What’s the difference between a Health Savings Account and a Health Flexible Spending Account, and which one should you choose? Your Open Enrollment booklet and website will help you decide. |

To assist employees in campus organizations to navigate the new Employee Self-Service Portal, CHR, HRPC – North, HRPC – South, the College, and other organizations will be providing specialized Benefits Open Enrollment Assistance Centers. The Campus Human Resources Benefits Assistance Center will be located in Room 1080 of the UCLA Wilshire Center at 10920 Wilshire Blvd. The dates and times for the sessions are listed below.
