Use this checklist of resources to help ease the process of settling into your new position at UCLA. Get started on enrolling for benefits, purchasing a parking permit, setting up your email account, registering for New Employee Orientation and exploring personal and recreational activities. It’s all here and ready for you to begin using today!

Your first days	Locate and meet your department HR representative Get fingerprinted if required to complete your employment background check Review and sign all initial new-hire paperwork Obtain your employee ID number from your departmental HR representative or supervisor Review a campus map to locate relevant buildings and parking lots Visit the Transportation Services website to learn about your commuting options Obtain relevant parking permits Visit the Payroll website to learn about your paycheck, direct deposit, pay dates and deductions Set up your office voicemail, email and workstation if it is not already set up for you Determine if you are a policy-covered employee or represented by an exclusive bargaining agent (union). Complete and submit your BruinCard "Terms & Conditions" form to obtain your BruinCard Visit and peruse the Campus Human Resources website Create a password and log-on ID for the At Your Service website Sign up for New Employee Orientation Ask your HR representative about your vacation and sick leave accruals
Your first weeks	Attend New Employee Orientation Read about and analyze your Benefits package Enroll in benefits within your Period of Initial Eligibility (PIE) - 31 days after your hire date Check UCLA directory information and make any corrections if needed Learn what to do in case of an emergency on campus Visit Environment, Health & Safety to learn about safety training and policies Visit the Campus Services portal to learn about campus business tools and resources you may need for your work Check out the Training and Development Catalog online Plan now for your future retirement by visiting FITSCO Learn about policies that drive processes and procedures that relate to your work Sign up for the Training and Development Mailer
Your first months	Explore and join UCLA Staff Assembly to enhance your experience at UCLA For new managers, learn more about UCLA's Administrative Management Group Visit campus employee websites to access current news and information Revisit SkillNet to explore ongoing opportunities for Training and Development Review UCLA’s policies about educational benefits and reduced-fee enrollment Learn about certificate programs offered through Training and Development Visit the UCOP system-wide website to learn more about the Office of the President Learn about system-wide programs for staff (for example, the UC Business Officer Institute) If you are a supervisor, enroll in Introduction to Supervision and Supervisory Principles classes If you are a manager, enroll in the Management Seminar Series Visit the UCLA Happenings website to learn about sports, arts and cultural events on campus Join the UCLA Recreation Center and enjoy the benefits of having a state-of-the-art recreation center right on campus
