UCLA Career employees who have been laid off may have preferential rehire rights. Layoff candidates who meet the requirements for preferential rehire and who meet the position's minimum required qualifications must be interviewed for the open position. A regular status employee with preference for reemployment or transfer may be rejected only if the employee lacks qualifications required of the position. Reasons for non-selection shall be provided. For represented employees, refer to the applicable labor contract.
