Similar to last year, UCLA is proposing to observe an extended Winter Holiday Closure during the 2021-2022 holiday season. As we continue to face challenges stemming from the pandemic, this closure period is an opportunity to support personal well-being and a healthy work-life balance.
President Drake has approved another extension of the temporary exception to PPSM-2.210 (Absence from Work), which allows policy-covered staff employees additional time to take vacation leave in order to bring their accrual balances below the maximum. The exception deadline has been extended to June 30, 2022. During the exception period, employees whose balances exceed the maximum will continue to accrue vacation leave.
The 2021-22 Management Seminar Series has been announced. This series, sponsored in partnership with UCLA Anderson’s Executive Education Program, will be offered on a virtual platform to ensure we reach those who are operating under a hybrid work model.
Campus Human Resources is pleased to announce recruitment for the 2022 Staff Enrichment Program (SEP), celebrating its 43rd year in January. This highly successful, one-year program is designed to foster career development and provide skill-building opportunities for staff in administrative support positions.
Key program goals include the following:
The Pay for Family Care and Bonding (PFCB) program has been approved by President Michael V. Drake, M.D., and will be available as of July 1, 2021.
Campus Human Resources is pleased to announce the 2021-2022 Management Development Certificate Course Schedule. The certificate program is designed to help management-level employees enhance effectiveness in their current role and prepare for future opportunities.
UC President Drake has approved a second extension of the temporary exception to PPSM-2.210 (Absence from Work), which allows policy-covered staff employees additional time to take vacation leave in order to bring their vacation accrual balances below the maximum. The exception deadline has been extended to September 30, 2021. During the exception period, employees whose balances exceed the maximum will continue to accrue vacation leave.
On May 14, 2021, President Drake authorized the Chancellors to move forward with the 2021-22 Salary Program for Policy-Covered Staff. In recognition of the extraordinary efforts contributed by our policy-covered staff members during these challenging times and the inability to provide a merit program last year, this year’s program provides for a 3% general increase to all eligible recipients.
The UCLA Administrative Management Group (AMG), sponsored by Campus Human Resources, is excited to open registration for the 2021 AMG Leadership Conference, which will take place virtually on Wednesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 20.
Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Awards may be granted in FY 20-21. The award amounts in the guidelines are modified for FY 20-21 to reflect the impact of the pandemic on UCLA’s operations. The intent of the award program this year is to recognize those staff members who have made exceptional contributions, going above and beyond regular work expectations to support the campus and their respective organizations.
